Why do you need to trust in Jesus?

A short answer is that He is the only way to help you Stop Sinning. He is the only one who can forgive you, give peace and purpose of life. Only Jesus can give you salvation. But how can you trust someone you do not know? In order for you to trust someone you need to know that person very well. You need to spend time with that person. You need to establish a friendship with them. You can know Jesus by studying the Bible, by praying to him and by seeking to be a blessing to others.

You can call upon the name of Jesus, you can pray in his name and he will come to your life. Especially when circumstances are really difficult. But Jesus is not looking to offer you a one-time experience but lifetime experience. So he is inviting you to put your past and present in his hands and He wants you to trust Him with your future life. That is a complete Trust.

We trust certain professionals. We trust our builders to make our houses. We trust our physician with our health. We trust our mechanics with our vehicles, but when it comes to our spiritual lives, where do we go? Should we not go to the live giver? Jesus is the live giver: Colossians 1: 16, 17 “For by him (Jesus) were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.”

Our greatest challenge is that we live in a world where skepticism rules, moreover when it comes to God.The only thing we are not skeptical about is our own skepticism. The term "skeptic" derives from a Greek noun, skepsis, which means examination, inquiry, consideration. In this process there is a vital element and that is “Willingness”. Are you willing to examine and consider Jesus’ invitation? Are you willing to face your fears and doubts?

This invitation to trust Jesus is engraved in Love. John 3: 16 says: “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” Love is word used a lot but practice seldom. God has not told you “I love you” He has “given” himself to save you from the consequences of your sin and from the power of evil in your life. Earthly love is selfish. It requires reciprocity to function well. God’s love does not require reciprocity from your end. It needs to be accepted.

The love chapter in the BIble. 1 Corinthians 13. Outlines the characteristics of the true love: “Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails.” Now you can replace the word “Love” with Jesus’ name you get a most personal description of his love for you: “Jesus suffers long and is kind; Jesus does not envy; Jesus does not parade itself, is not puffed up; He does not behave rudely, He does not seek its own, He is not provoked, He thinks no evil; He does not rejoice in iniquity, but He rejoices in the truth; He bears all things, He believes all things, He hopes all things, He endures all things. Jesus never fails.”

Is it a beautiful love? Would you be willing to trust someone with such a great love for you? I invite you to seriously consider this.
